BloodScan Biotech has been named one of the final selected startups of the 2026 Hi-Po Star Potential Startup Selection, organized by the Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration (SMESA), Ministry of Economic Affairs, competing in the Deep Tech category.

The Hi-Po Star program is hosted by SMESA and executed by the Taipei Computer Association. Entry is by nomination only, requiring a recommendation from an investment institution, incubator, accelerator, startup hub, or government agency. Following a two-stage review reaching consensus among 24 industry leaders, 23 companies were chosen as final selected startups out of 45 finalists, with BloodScan recognized in the Deep Tech category.

In their feedback, the final-round judges noted that BloodScan's combination of technology originating from the University of Michigan with Taiwan's hardware manufacturing strength can help shorten clinical trial timelines and gives the company strong potential in international markets. The panel also offered guidance on advancing technology maturity and assay accuracy, and on strengthening regulatory clearance and business model planning, which the company will incorporate into its development roadmap.

BloodScan's core technology, Labyrinth One, is an in-house developed microfluidic platform that isolates circulating tumor cells (CTCs) label-free and reagent-free with high efficiency while preserving cell viability, enabling downstream molecular and functional analysis for translational medicine and precision oncology.

Final selected startups gain access to more than 40 policy and private-sector incentive resources, including priority investment evaluation under the National Development Fund's SME investment program, FINDIT matchmaking events and international column exposure, dedicated Hi-Po Star matchmaking sessions, biomedical venture capital introductions, international business development and overseas market programs, UX/UI consulting, financial advisory services, and startup fundraising courses. The organizers will hold the 2026 Hi-Po Star Award Ceremony on August 28, 2026.

This recognition further validates the innovative value of BloodScan's next-generation liquid biopsy technology. The company will continue to deepen technical validation and regulatory planning while working with partners in Taiwan and abroad to advance early cancer detection and precision medicine toward clinical adoption and global market growth.
